NHS Staff and Care Worker Free Car Park Finder

International Parking Community

Free Parking for NHS staff and Care Workers

The IPC is working together with many organisations, to provide a single place where all NHS staff and care workers can go to find locations where free parking is available. If you know of a place where parking is offered for free to NHS staff and care workers let us know. We will add it to our Finder.

Government Parking Passes

The Government have announced Guidance on their Coronavirus (COVID-19): health, care and volunteer workers parking pass and concessions. The guidance can be found here. All health, care and volunteer workers eligible will receive a pass, which, when displayed in their windscreens will give them free parking on all Local Authority car parks and on-street bays. We are working to show which private car parks will accept this permit too. At present there is no end date, we will update the website to show when things change.

Is This A Full List Of All Free Parking For NHS Staff Health And Social Care Workers and Volunteer Responders?

No. We are working really hard to get as much information into the Finder as quickly as we can. This will change on a daily basis. You can help us get more sites in there and so help the NHS staff and care workers to find free parking. Please ask local authorities and any other organisation to provide us with details. They can do this by clicking here.

The good news is it isn’t just us who are trying to make life easier for NHS staff, health and social care workers and volunteer responders. If you cannot find a space on our site there is another site which may be helpful click here. If there are any more we will list them here in the future. We are currently trying to link the information so all providers can show you the same information but in a way that you like to view it.

All car parks and off-street bays managed by local authorities are free for vehicles displaying Government Parking Passes. If you know one near where you need to be then you can park there free of charge. It wont take us long to get all the car parks loaded into our finder.

What is the intention of the Free Car Park Finder

The aim is;

  1. To provide a central point of information for all NHS staff and care workers to use to find free parking during the Coronovirus pandemic.
  2. To identify parking hotspots where capacity at NHS trusts may need contingency parking during the pandemic and link them with local car park providers.

Why do we need the Free Car Park Finder?

To make it easy for our NHS staff and care workers to find where free parking is available for them. There are many different offers of free parking across the UK for NHS staff and care workers. However, there is not one central point where that information is held. NHS staff and care workers will be following unusual routines and traveling to new places. The last thing they need is to have to use multiple platforms to find free parking. This platform helps make finding a free parking space much easier.

During the Covid-19 pandemic our NHS is under unprecedented pressure. As a country we will all have friends and family who will need the NHS to save their lives. It is incumbent on everyone in the country to do what they can to help. NHS staff and care workers will be using private motor vehicles more than normal and one way the parking community can come together and help is to ensure parking is available where it is needed. Many have been offering spaces, however, there is not a single point of reference to make it easy for NHS staff and care workers to find where they can park for free.
