Firstly, the International Parking Community would like to take this opportunity to thank all front line workers for all of your hard work during these unprecedented times.
In April we launched the NHS Staff and Care Worker Free Car Park Finder website to help NHS staff, care workers and volunteers who had signed up with the Royal Volunteers Service, to find free and available parking locations close to where they were required, across the UK.
The National lockdown restrictions have now been lifted and the country is moving back to a 3-tiered system based on the level of infections in each individual area. Whilst the Government have made a commitment to the Covid-19 parking pass, they have accepted that Local Authorities can implement their own alternative ways in which they will be able to offer free parking for relevant people.
The 3-tiered system combined with the individual approaches of Local Authorities mean that we can no longer provide you with a national database of sites that are offering free parking. We are also no longer able to register you and your vehicle for free parking.
We would therefore encourage you to contact your Local Authority to enquire about the provisions that they are putting in place to support the Covid-19 parking pass and your ongoing work.
Please don’t assume that you will still be able to park for free and please remember that when parking it is always important to ensure that you have read signage and familiarised yourself with any terms and conditions that may apply on the land.
Once again we would like to express our gratitude for everything you have done to get us through the pandemic.
